Year Three of the Nokomis Beach Talks Concludes with
“Spring & Summer Sportfishing on the Gulf” on Friday, May 1st
NOKOMIS, FL – Year three of a monthly series of free Nokomis Beach Talks winds up on Friday, May 1st, 2026, with a masterclass on Spring & Summer Sportfishing on the Gulf by Captain Joe Cellamare, owner of FishTales Bait & Tackle. Capt. Cellamare is a seasoned charter boat captain, fishing guide, and expert on bait and fishing gear for finding and catching fish in Sarasota County. He has been in the charter fishing business for more than 20 years.
This one-hour workshop will begin at 9:00 am under the Beach Picnic Pavilion at North Jetty Park (1000 Casey Key Road S., Nokomis, FL), rain or shine. Following a brief introduction, Capt. Joe will discuss the key fish species in our local waters during the spring and summer, as well as the best types of rods, reels, lures, and bait to catch these fish.
This program is sponsored by the non-profit Nokomis Institute.
Beverages are provided by HTeaO of Nokomis.
All workshops are free and open to the general public. No pre-registration is necessary.
Parking is free and adjacent to the Picnic Pavilion at North Jetty Park.
