Building Community Understanding and Management of Nutrients for Healthy Water
Throughout the State of Florida, and within our community, excess nutrients in waterways are feeding harmful algae blooms (HAB), adversely impacting the both ecologies and economies. Recognizing the need to better understand and address these excess nutrients, in 2019, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation (GCCF) embarked on an effort to develop a blueprint or playbook that can be adapted and customized by communities using the Sarasota County region in southwest Florida as a template.
NACA feels this is one of the most important issues our community faces.
Speakers: Jon Thaxton, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, & Stephen Suau, Progressive Water Resources
