September-October Member News0
The ONCC is looking for Hosts and Sponsors for our upcoming Fall & Winter Monthly Meetings.
Breakfast Meeting Sponsors
Sponsors are for the Breakfast meetings. Because of the recent fire at Bentley’s they will be held in the Community Room at Historic Spanish Point except for the November Breakfast Meeting. We will be looking for a different location for that meeting. The sponsor supplies the breakfast items. There are usually 35-50 people for a breakfast meeting. Breakfast meetings are now held on the morning of the 1st Thursday of the month, except for September because of Labor Day. They start at 7:30 am and end at 9 am. This meeting is structured more like an actual meeting and the sponsor has 5-10 minutes to talk and spotlight their business. There is a screen available for a PowerPoint presentation but you will need to provide the projector and lap top or contact Bryan Guenter at Re/Max Platinum Realty to see if you can borrow his.
Mix & Mingle Hosts
Hosts are for Mix & Mingles. Often times it is at a restaurant but not always. We have had them at various member business too. The host supplies appetizers, only if the host is a restaurant, and we buy our own cocktails. If the host is not a restaurant, they supply appetizers and usually beer & wine. Mix & Mingles can range from 20 to 50 people. Sometimes it depends on the time of year. Mix & Mingles are in the evening, from 5:30 pm until 8 pm, now on the 3rd Thursday of the month again except for September. This meeting is more informal, like a social gathering. Networking is done and the host has the opportunity to “showcase” their facility or business and talk more in depth about what they do on a smaller, individual basis.
If you are interested in hosting or sponsoring an event please contact Tracey Viviano at firstname.lastname@example.org or call # 941-928-7236.

2016 Haunted Trails at Oscar Scherer State Park
Friday and Saturday, October 21st and 22nd
At the first Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, September 8th we will have the sign up sheets for Trick-or-Treat stations for Haunted Trails.
Make sure to attend the Breakfast Meeting to hear some of the exciting new details for this year.
One of the new things we will be doing is an online pre-sale of tickets. Each night will be “capped” at 2,000 attendees. This allows us to have a better parking situation and NOT lock the gates and leave people waiting with their kids in the car on 41 until we have room. Tickets, after purchasing, can be printed out or displayed on your phone. We will have scanners to scan the SKU number on each ticket for quicker and more efficient entry. This has created an outstanding opportunity for 2 of our member businesses. Each ticket has 2 banners on it for advertising purposes. Sign up is limited to the first 2 businesses who reach out for this fantastic opportunity. Sponsorship is $200 for each business. That is $200 to reach 4,000 tickets?!? Amazing. If you are interested in the amazing opportunity contact Tracey ASAP at email@example.com or call # 928-7236. Only 2 spots are available so first come-first served.
ONCC Membership Survey
Within the next 2 weeks members will be receiving an eblast about participating in an ONCC Membership Survey. The Board of the Osprey Nokomis Chamber of Commerce values the opinions, ideas and feedback of our membership. Please make sure to complete the brief survey and make your voice heard. The survey will only be open and available for a limited time so we can compile the information and report back on the results at the October Breakfast Meeting. Thanks, as always, for your continued support.
“Hello and Farewell”
The Board of the ONCC would like to say a special “Thank You” and a sad farewell to Board Members Joe Dobzynski, Laurie Ettriem and Ed Koehlers. While all 3 will remain members of the ONCC they have finished their terms on the ONCC Board.
The Board would also like to welcome Karen Gerner, Sue Clark and Vicki Mosher to the ONCC Board. We are excited about new blood and new ideas on the Board to help the ONCC continue to grow.
